ELENOR W. DeVOST

ELENOR WORKMAN DeVOST  
Of Olney, MD, was born July 15, 1923 to Joseph Leroy Workman and Marguerite Arnold Workman in Washington, D.C. She died on April 19, 2013, surrounded by her family in her Olney home. She attended St. Anthony's grade school and high school graduating in 1941. She went to work for the Federal Government at the Government Printing Office where she worked in Personnel. She graduated from Dunbarton College with a B.A. degree in English in 1951. She married Valmore DeVost on September 22, 1951. She resigned her position to start a family in 1955. Elenor is survived by five children, Elizabeth Wilson, Mark DeVost, Karen Rollings, Sherry Rodis, and Joe DeVost; 10 grandchildren Brian, Stephen, and Jason Wilson, Michael, Maggie, and Jeremy Rollings, Juliana and Jacqueline DeVost, Samantha and Jessica Felice.  She moved to Montgomery County in 1958 and has lived here ever since. She has researched her genealogy and her mother's family goes back to 1824 here in Montgomery County.  Viewing will be at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd W, Silver Spring, MD 20901, Wednesday, April 23, 2013 from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral will be at Saint Peter's in Olney on Thursday, April 24, 2013 at 1 p.m. We would like to thank the folks at Quality Elder Care, Senior Helpers of Rockville, and Holy Cross Hospice, many friends, family members, for the loving care and support without which we could not have done this.
