My condolences and prayers go out to the family of Mrs. Wright She was a wonderful teacher who I have very fond memories of from KES. Even thought she wasn't my actual teacher I was one of her safety patrols in 74-75. She will always be one of my favorite teachers from KES.

The entire Dorsett family sends our condolences. We all had Mrs. Wright as our 5th grade teacher. She was one of the best teachers we had. Rob fondly remembers her as the leader of the Patrols, as he was the Captain. She taught him a lot about responsibility at such a young age. You will be missed by so many !

My condolences to her family. I almost feel I have met mrs. Wright from the stories her grandson told of her. She seemed to be a woman of great strength and compassion. I know she will be missed. May her love and prayers support her family as they grieve her passing.

Dear Anna May, condolences on the death of your mother. She was my kindergarten teacher, and what a wonderful woman she was! I have no idea how she was able to handle 70 little 5 year olds for even half a day at a time. She did it though, and without total chaos. I remember you being in my classes also. She is certainly one of those women who affected probably hundreds of thousands of children. She made her mark, and what a lifelong mark it was. I have thought of her often through the years and wondered whatever happened to her. Now I know. She was busy being a blessing to many people. Rest in peace Mrs. Wright. Mrs Wright was my mentor. She has been an enduring guide in my personal life and in my life as a teacher. She was my teacher in the fifth and sixth grades (1973-1975) at Kensington Elementary School. She was my favorite teacher ever. I feel very lucky to have had her. I am forever grateful to her. I remember her reading to us—Rasmus and the Vagabond, Ramona, Bristleface, Ironhead, Black and Blue Magic, The Loner, The City Under Ground. That was my favorite part of the day. I remember her as a leader who was not afraid to be demanding. I remember her leading the patrols. As a patrol I used to open the North Door for her each morning—and was proud to do it. I remember her at Marlu Ridge, where she gave me assists to get the volleyball over the net (I was small then). I remember her as having a rare combination of intelligence, wisdom, love, and strength. I'm a better person because of her, and I know many hundreds of others are too. I wish her family and loved ones strength and peace, and want them to know how profoundly loved and admired Kay Wright has been, and how much better she made the world through her wonderful and caring teaching.

My brother and I had Mrs. Wright in kindergarten in the 1950's at St Catherine Laboure School in Wheaton, MD. My brother was lucky to get her again in 6th grade. She left in the middle of that year and the class was taken over by our mother, Trudy Borrell, who was a friend of Kay's. The class voted to keep Fred in their class. Our,sister, Barbara, was a good friend of Kay's daughter, Kathy. I even made Kathy's wedding cake in 1974. Kay was a wonderful teacher and we were all blessed to have known this wonderful woman!!!

Mrs. Wright was my 6th grade teacher and taught me to love making ceramics. She was full of life and showed us how to make fun out of a rainy week at Mar Lu Ridge. So glad she was my teacher.

Blessings to your family. Mrs. Wright helped to form the best part of our kids' education at the old Kensington Elementary. A cherished school, a cherished teacher.

She was my teacher for 6th grade (1974-1975) and of all of the teachers I have ever had, she was the best. You could tell she loved teaching! She was strict but fair, compassionate and understanding. She was fun and so creative. We were never bored in her class!!! I was also a patrol under her leadership and her pride in us rubbed off to give us pride in ourselves. She taught us so many lessons besides what was in the books...none can compare to Mrs. Wright. Her gentle sole and kind heart touched all of us who were fortunate to have known her. My condolences to her family for your loss.
