On Monday, June 10, 2013 of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of Rita M. Benoit for 56 years; father of Suzanne Malone; grandfather of Daniel Patrick and Megan Michelle Malone; also survived by many relatives. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Shrine of St. Jude, 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. We at the Shrine of St. Jude are blessed to have such a wonderful, dedicated LA Gentleman as our fellow parishoner. His smile and the twinkle of his eyes- when combined with his authentic Cajun/French pronunciation of the parish names in LA made me proud that we share a common heritage. Q:"How do you say 'see you later' in Cajun French?" A:"À plus tard, Mr. Ben Benoit!"

We are so sorry for your loss. Ben was one of the mainstays at St. Jude's. My favorite memory is of him down on the floor playing with baby Maggie last fall.

Dear Benoit Family,
Ben was a true friend of the Shady Grove Pregnancy Center. He was always ready and willing to help and had no problem volunteering his buddies to assist with our Baby Bottle Campaign. We loved his humor and dedication. Ben will be greatly missed. We were privileged to have him as a volunteer.

Rita, Suzanne, Daniel, and Megan I am so sorry for your lost--he was such a kindhearted man. Not only in how he cared for his Mother, but also his care and attention to his Aunts.
