H. David Pixler
On Monday, May 28, 2018, of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of the late Millie "Babe" Pixler; father of Dave Pixler and Tammy Pixler; proud granddad of Jasmine Pixler Skully (Dane) and PO2 Steffan Michael Pixler, USN. Also survived by many loving family and friends. Mr. Pixler was 87. Dave had never been in a hospital (including his birth) until now. He grew up in Morgantown, WV and was in the Morgantown HS Marching Band. After a stint in the Navy, Dave worked at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab. He was actively involved in politics, President of the Pool association and PTA, In retirement Dave and his wife Millie (married 62 years), drove across the USA a few times in their van (with personalized wheel cover "Millie & Dave) and traveled overseas (their favorite destination was Alaska). Most important to Dave was Family and friends.A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7500 Greenway Center Drive, Suite 300, Greenbelt, MD 20770. www.collinsfuneralhome.com

I only just found out about Dave's passing from a friend who emailed me his obituary. I am deeply saddened by the news and find it hard to believe. Dave always seemed so happy and full of life, even in hard times. He was a friend and mentor to me and he is someone who will always be in my thoughts. Donna and I send our prayers to his family.

I have great memories of Dave and Millie that go back many years before and after his retirement. I was in his car pool to APL and a golf buddy. My prayers are with the family during this time.
