My favorite story he shared was his European travel in the merchant Marines after world War 2 burned out he sometimes saw it when he hired a taxi in Port to get out and look around, I was his physician and so appreciate knowing him and his trust in me.

Even though I'm 50 plus now, I still think of Henry as 'Mr. Santiago'. Being childhood friends with his daughter Kathy, I have many fond memories of him. Whether he was hanging out at the house or taking us to the pool he always had a friendly word to say and a smile on his face. He was a truly good man and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Just a quick story: Not sure when, it was probably almost 15 years ago. (I believe I had hair at the time). We had planned a family summer trip to Bethany. I ended up on my own with a minivan full of kids - my four and two of their friends. I remember it was a long drive from NY in every sense. When we finally got to Bethany I was confused re our whereabouts and began to lose it a bit. Driving down one of the streets who do I happen to spot, but Hank (whom I had not seen in years)walking along. At that point it was like a religious experience in that there was an adult who I knew and who knew the lay of the land. (This was years before everyone having a sophisticated navigation system.) Anyway, he was a bit of a guardian angel put there at just the right time with a warm smile, a welcoming, reassuring way and directions to our destination. Perhaps I will see him again and he can similarly welcome me and guide me. Hank was a nice guy. So sorry for the loss.
