JAMES HARRISON SCHOOLER
Loving husband of 50 years of Barbara Lee (née Gageby) passed away on September 11, 2013. Beloved father of Sherri and Jim and father-in-law to Jim's wife Nancy. Proud grandfather of Paul and Thomas. Also survived by family friends Michael and Barb Finney and Steven and Kristen Finney and Katie, Nick, Brooke, and Bryce Finney. Predeceased by his sister Virginia. Son of the late James and Lillian Schooler. Jim was born on February 5, 1936. He was educated at University of Illinois at Chicago and Champaign-Urbana where he graduated with a Civil Engineering degree in 1956. He was a Lieutenant junior grade in the Navy where he worked at MCAS Yuma. He transitioned to civil service in the US Army Corps of Engineers where he spent his career from 1964 to 1992 when he retired. He loved the outdoors and cared deeply about the environment. He was interested in nature, and loved to fix things. He was always willing to help neighbors and friends with items that needed repair. There will be a service at Providence Presbyterian Church, 9019 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax, VA on Sunday September 22 at 3:30 p.m. Interment Ceremony service at Quantico National Cemetery on September 23 at 10 a.m.
