JOAN MARY (Lovering) BOOS  
On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at age 92, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife for 62 years of the late Fred Boos; devoted mother to Kathy (Dennis) Parnell, Fred J. (Nancylee) Boos II, Brad (Rita) Boos, and Deborah Boos; beloved sister of Margaret Lovering Fisher; cherished grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of six; Joan was a treasured aunt and respected friend. Born in St. Stephen, NB, Canada and raised in Calais, Maine, Joan came to Washington DC after WWII to work for the Federal Government and in a private law practice. She was the first Cherry Blossom Princess from Maine in the 1948 Festival. She met her future husband shortly thereafter, and they raised their family in suburban Maryland, living in the same home for 50 years. She loved being a mother and having all of her children raise their families in the Washington DC area, where they were frequent visitors.
