JoANNA MARGARET GRAY (Age 70)
On Thursday, March 23, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of James Gray; mother of Jamie Gray (Kim), Jason Gray and Jennifer Gray; grandmother of Caitlin and Aubrey Gray; daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Reeves, loved and nurtured by Lee and Shirley Mower; sister of Patricia Prewitt (Davis), Linda Hilton (Paul), Greig Mower, Ronald Mower and Brian Mower (Sondra), along with many nieces and nephews. JoAnna worked at and was eventually owner of Woodmoor Pastry Shop for over 50 years. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, March 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette's Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday, March 30, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

We are customers of Woodmoor bakery and Joanna was more than happy to purchase an ad in the Takoma Park Cooperative Nursery School directory. We did this in writing as I am deaf. She also gave my kids free cookies whenever I stopped in to order donuts. Just a terrific lady and I'm honored to have crossed paths with her. Condolences to the family.

I was privleged to know Joanna since the 1960"s We went to Montgomery College together. I grew up loving the pastry and cakes and having her make my Wedding cake in 1969. Me and my family will sorely miss her as much as her dear family and friends will. May God Bless your whole family and know she was loved by many grateful customers.

Joanna was always so kind and welcoming. She lit up when we talked about Michigan and she loved my little kids getting so excited about getting cookies at the bakery. She added such class and flavor to our lives here in Woodmoor. As her neighbour, she will be sorely missed in our community and on our little street.

Dear Gray family, we the Miller family, Jerry, Terry, Adam and Jenna are so sad that Joanne has passed away. Some of our best memories are watching our kids play sports, talking at practices and of course you and the bakery. She will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Joanna was always there when we would pick up our favorite pastries and cookies. Our family were regulars at the bakery when we lived in Silver Spring. Praying for her, her family and the friends that are mourning her loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gray family. Joanna was priceless with an amazing grace and warmth that was present wherever she went. Tireless in her duties at the Pastry Shop and at home she always made time for everyone and made them feel like part of her family. She will be dearly missed but always remembered in such a loving way.
