JOHN LAWRENCE DIVER (Age 90)
On Friday, February 3, 2017 of Silver Spring, MD, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Mary T. Diver and Betty McVearry Diver; father of John F. Diver, Margaret M. Diver, Maureen (John) Godbout, Denise (Richard) Laver and Francis J. Diver, and father-in-law of Laurie Diver; brother of Kathryn Camm and the late Penelope Gillespie; grandfather of Jackie, Brendan, David, Nick, Andrew, Kymmy, Patrick, and Julie; great-grandfather of Rebecca, Katelyn, Riley and Porter. He proudly served his country as a Yeoman in the Navy at the end of World War II. He was a representative for the Lathers Union and The United Brotherhood of Carpenters retiring in 1991. He enjoyed traveling, sitting on the back yard deck of his daughter's home watching the grandchildren play in the pool and watching the Redskins and Nationals. Memorial Mass at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, on Thursday, February 9 at 11 a.m. with a reception immediately following afterwards. Inurnment Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date.
