On Thursday, March 20, 2014, of Lanham, MD. Beloved husband of Shawann King; father of six children. Also survived by four sisters and two brothers. Relatives and friends may call at Peoples Community Baptist Church, 31 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD Friday, March 28, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m., where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment Maryland National Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Esophageal Cancer Action Network, www.ecan.org.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

The King Family, we are told you can judge a man by the legacy he leaves. Seeing so many familiar names on this Guest Book saddened at his leaving us underscores the legacy that John left. I am deeply saddened by the death of John. This must be very difficult for you all. Each of you are in my thoughts and my prayers.
John was a kind person, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I will miss his helpful advice when it came to you boys.
