JOHN TRAHEY BEAMER, II (Age 59)
On Saturday, July 5, 2014, of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of Fran Beamer; father of Shannon Elizabeth, Conor Patrick and John Trahey Beamer, III; step-father of Amanda Leann Abell-Puente; brother of Capt. George Patrick Beamer, the late Frances Michaela Deily and the late Robert Kevin Beamer; son of the late Col. Francis X. and the late Frances C. Beamer. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, July 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 4900 Strathmore Avenue, Garrett Park, MD, on Thursday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. John and I worked together as part of the Washington Capitals off-ice staff. John was a good guy, who was easy to work with and always had a good story to tell in the press room. My friends on the off-ice crew certainly knew John longer and better than I did, but John was kind to me and I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with John's family.

My sincerest condolences go to Fran, Shannon, Conor and Chip. The world lost a measure of sweetness and vivacity with John's passing on Saturday. From my days with John, I will remember that "pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered," and "not to let folks rent space for free in my head." John was a good classmate @ GC and an even greater friend as an attorney for the County, when in an "adversarial" role in Worker's Comp hearings, he was caring, honest and reasonable!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. John was a kind loving father. He was so proud of his children. I adored Fran never said an unkind word about her. I will miss him as a friend and as golf buddy.
