Funny enough a week or so ago Ali and I were reminiscing about you John and how u were encouraging me to join the Navy, and I am reminded of you mostly at work because we have picture of Greece on the walls so you quickly cross my mind.☺you are def missed for your jokes , laughter and how much you just loved Olympia. So selfless. It was really a great pleasure working for you and being able to help where I could. You are definitely missed . I wish you continue having a peaceful Rest. ❤

I was very fortunate to know John through work at NEA. I worked in the same department as Olympia. John always had something nice to say whenever I saw him. I miss both John and Olympia. It was very apparent how much they adored each other. I am glad they are now together. My sincere condolences to the Rodger family.

Mr John Rodgers...the news came so suddenly and it was the day i called to tell u i was coming to see u. U are sorely missed..!!! However wonderful memories wil forever remain in our hearts and minds! Someone mentioned how good of a cook u were!!! I agree a 1000%☺ u were soooo kind and so giving and caring and loving..I happened to c your loving nature when your wife " wimpy" was still around and your giving and caring nature when my mom and aunt from South Africa came for a visit..! They adored both u and olympia and were very glad that i was working for such amazing ppl. Your funny nature i always appreciated and would try to retel the jokes but they wouldnt be as funny as when u would tell them. Thank u for your advice u gave me all the time about life, love and on an intelectual level. Truely i need a whole day to fully tell how wonderful u were but everyone already knows...It was my greatest pleasure to have known and worked for you and wimpy! May u find peace and hope u both are now happy together again ..i love you

I was very sad to learn of Mr. Rodgers passing. My sister and I met Mr. Rodgers when his wife was ill. It was very clear how much he and his wife adored each other. Mr.Rogers and his wife always made my mother feel welcome in their conversations. It is very symbolic to me that he should cross over during a storm that was named after his wife. May they both Rest in Peace.

Dear Grandpa,
I miss you so much!! I will always remember all those great times we had and spent together. You & Grandma made my life the best. I loved coming over for a visit & always looked forward to seeing you. Best Grandpa in the whole wide world. No one could compare with you, you're one of a kind. You were hilarious, kind, understanding, generous, outgoing, amazing, and just so full of love and much, much more. AND... you were such a fantastic cook. Every meal you made us was THE best! I'm ever grateful for you & Grandma. Love you always.

Dear Rodgers Family,
How blessed we all were to have shared a little time with your mother and father.
As a member of the Monthly Poker Gang, it became a real challenge for all of us to get a grasp of your fathers "poker face".
His face never revealed his true position. EXCEPT when it came to his wife. No doubt, she had his number!!!
May God bless us all. I'm eager to meet his family and many friends and tell John Stories at his future memorial service.

My husband and John worked together many years ago and became good friends with John and his family. We both kept in touch over the years and they came to Chicago to see us some times. We loved both John and Olympia and was very sorry that we lived so many miles apart. I lost my Husband, Ed, the begining of November and it is a very comfort feeling to know that John, Olympia and Ed are united again after all these years. My thoughts and prayers are with the remaining family at this difficult time.

Reading the other messages, it seems that I really missed out, not having had the pleasure of meeting John and Olympia, but perhaps I will one day, on the other side. It is comforting to know that they are together again, which is as it should be, and my sincerest condolences go to you, Ginny, at this tremendously sad and difficult time. {{{ }}}

It was our good fortune to have John & Olympia as neighbors and friends. While we moved to Canada our close friendship endured the years. The love between them both was legendary & witnessed each & every day. They shared another passion, the Redskins & we were fortunate enough to cheer along side the Rodgers.
John was a truly extraordinary soul, at once kind and unbelieveably giving. He was also an inspiration as he never had a bad word to say about anyone...even when the Redskins lost.
John, you are already terribly missed and I am joined by Mary Ann, Sean and Patty in our wish that we could be with the family at this very, very sad time. The Rowsomes

The world has lost one of the nicest people I have had an opportunity to know. We who knew and worked with John were truly blessed. NEA was fortunate to have John as an employee. REST IN PEACE, my dear friend.

Both John and Olympia were two special, caring, and loving people who were always fun to be with. We will miss his jokes and great sense of humor. We will miss watching him work in the yard, and the tremendous insight he had during our long talks. They were the best neighbors anyone could wish for. Our heart goes out to his family which they both adored. With loving thoughts......Bonnie and Ward Richards
