Fr. JOSEPH XAVIER CORNELY, S.T. (Age 81)
On Thursday, August 6, 2015, of Adelphi, MD. Beloved son of the late Francis J. and the late Anna Powers Cornely; brother of Rev. Francis Cornely, Larry Cornely, Nancy Dougherty, Dolores Koerwer and the late Dr. Donald Cornely. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his religious community, the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity. Fr. Joseph was the Vicar for Personnel and the Vicar General for his religious community for eight years. Much of his priestly ministry took place in California. Relatives and friends may call at Father Judge Missionary Cenacle, 1733 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD on Sunday, August 9 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 10 at 11 a.m. Interment Holy Trinity, AL. I love this man. He stood up for me when I was at a crossroads. His heart was quiet and unbelievably beautiful, more angel than man. I had given up on life when he urged me to sing.
