JOSEPHINE MARIA MONALDO "Pina" (Age 83)
Josephine Maria Monaldo, on Monday, April 17, 2017, of Brookeville, MD. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Anthony Monaldo; mother of Frank (LaDonna), Maria Bender, Tino (Sheri), and Michael (Valerie); grandmother of Jeremy (Marci), Justin (Jessica), Jessica Armstrong (Anthony), Luke (Stephanie), Joseph, Nicholas, Anna Maria, Dante, Dominic, and Marcus Monaldo and Ryan, Bradley, and Andrew Bender; great grandmother of Aliza, Tyler, Gavin, and Maren Monaldo; survived by her sister Rosina Mazzotta; sisters-in-law Teresa Monaldo Kropfl (Walter), Elizabeth Monaldo Glakas (Pete), and numerous nieces and nephews. Josephine was born in Filadelfia, Italy and came to the United States in 1954. She raised her four children while an active parishioner of St. Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church for over 50 years. Despite having limited education in Italy, she made sure her children graduated college. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, April 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrews the Apostle Catholic Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20902, on Friday, April 21, at 10:30 a.m., Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I truly loved Josephine so very much. She was such a beautiful, elegant lady. I loved watching her join us for church every Sunday. She was always so happy and filled with joy. I will miss her sooooooo very much.
