JOYCE ILENE STARK PAUL (Age 81)
On Friday, February 12, 2016, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of State College, PA. Beloved wife of Norman M. Paul, Jr.; loving mother of Scott (Ilisa Halpern) Paul and Kristen Paul; devoted grandmother of Jonah, Micah, Misha and Luca Paul. Retired school teacher, military spouse and avid traveler. Relatives and friends may call at Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, 15300 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, Thursday, February 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., where Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. My sincere condolences to your family. I car pooled with Joyce when she worked at Mt. Ayre/North Newton School Corporation MANY years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed her company and insight as a young teacher. She always talked fondly of her family and guided me as I struggled with career decisions. She was a real GEM. My sincere condolences. I am sure she as touched people in a positive way than we will every know.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I worked with Joyce at the old Mt.Ayre School/North Newton School Corporation MANY years ago. We car pooled together and I thoroughly enjoyed her company. We laughed and plotted together daily. I also remember her as such a lady with sooooo much knowledge and insight to the world. She always talked about her family with such reverence and understanding. As a young teacher, I valued her guidance and prospective. It was my privilege to know to her. She was gem..... Joyce and Norm have been dear friends since 1958 when we were crew members/spouses in Topeka.Our careers took different paths but we always managed to stay in touch Our prayers and love are with Norm and his family. Joyce will be always be in our memories.
