Katherine E. Hubert (Age 86)
On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Hubert; sister of her late brother Joseph Hubert and sister-in-law of the late Anna Hubert. Survived by her nephew, Paul Hubert. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD, Monday, February 13, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; where the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. Interment Our Lady of Fatima Church Cemetery in Shenandoah Heights, PA. Katherine worked as an executive secretary for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Washington, DC. After her retirement there, she worked as a secretary for the Montgomery County Public School transportation dept. She was a most loving daughter who cared for her mother for many years. Katherine was especially grateful for three things in her life: the deep love she shared with her parents, the privilege of being an American and the blessing of her Christian faith. She was compassionate, optimistic and friendly. Her interest in national and world topics was everlasting and the source of many lively conversations. Those who knew her will dearly miss this gentle, humble soul. Memorial contributions may be made to any deserving charity, Katherine's favorites were for the blind, cancer and Catholic charities.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Katherine (or Miss Hubert as she preferred to address others) was a wonderful person to work with. We worked together for several years at MCPS. She was funny, dedicated, organized, hard-working, detail-oriented and loyal. She was a delight to work with, always interested in the success and wellbeing of everyone she touched. I wish I had a picture of the day we took her out and let her drive a school bus around the parking lot, she was so proud of herself! She was spunky, fearless, and independent! She was a wonderful person from whom we could all take a lesson.
