I met Kathy through her daughter, Kitty (who lived behind me in Taneytown, MD) and she (and Kitty and Jeff ) were some of the few most kind and gentle people I've encountered in my life. I will always remember feeding the squirrels by hand (!) in her backyard and seeing the beautiful Christmas lights at the Mormon temple in Silver Spring. It was so hard when Kitty passed, and now with Kathy gone, I feel the loss even more. I send love and sympathies to all of her family. Matt and John, my condolences.

Grandma was pretty much my best friend for much of my childhood. Growing up I had a lot of fears and really just a lot of emotions, but Grandma was always a safe space for me. She always made me feel validated, supported, and protected. She taught me to be myself and confidently speak my mind no matter what, but also to maintain a stance of openness and acceptance. To consider the experiences of others and have compassion for those around me. She showed me that with a good sense of humor you could get through just about anything. She was an amazing strong beautiful woman and I am so incredibly fortunate to have had her in my life.

Mrs. Fowler was a strong and straightforward person. She took me in and treated me as her own in a time when I was lost and had no where to go. Helped me stay in school and graduate, and I loved her. Kitty was my best friend and maid of honor at my wedding, and I still miss her to this day. My deepest sympathy goes out to the boys, to all the family and friends she had. Stay strong and God bless. She was a good women, a true and honest person, very rare these days.
