So sorry to only now learn of Larry's passing yet VERY proud of Him in learning of his life's accomplishments which gave so much good to others along the way. I Happily remember being a friend of Larry's from Classes and years together at Glover Grade School then also at Garfield High School with many pleasant and proud times he brought to band and orchestra. He was ALWAYS there being a POSITIVE, HELPFUL and above all CHEERFUL influence to whatever activities he was involved with. Though I lost touch with Him after our 1970 high school graduation I often wondered just whatever became of OUR friend Larry. NOW I know....and yes while saddened at his passing I am also VERY proud of Him and of how he handled his life! I send a big SMILE up to you Larry and know you send the same in return. My condolences to the Street family yet share in their pride at having had him in their midst for this lifetime. Sincerely, David Parker, Terlingua, Texas

Larry was my first friend. We went to Glover Elementary School together.

I knew of Larry's illness for quite sometime, but I was deeply saddened by the news of his passing. I send my deepest condolences to Kathy, Chipalo, Jalika; Ms Ruby Street, Ronald (Dianne), Alonzo, Angel and the entire Street and Ferger families. As I reflect, I first meant Larry at Glover elementary school. Back then, all of us had big dreams, and most of us valiantly accomplished are objectives. I shall always remember Larry's big smile, whether he was giving viable and pertinent advice to Prince Moshoeshoe about his country, as I watched with amazement or making me laugh!

Larry was a remarkable man, with a remarkable mind for constructing outstanding ideas for Africa and other countries around the globe! I'll miss him dearly but God called him to heaven to construct bigger and better places to build than we could ever imagined!

May God bless and comfort always the Streets, Fergers and other familie members

Kathy, my deepest sympathy to you and the children. You have stood by Lairold through thick and thin...from Oberlin College, our alma mater, to Washington, D.C. Please feel free to call on us if you need anything. Sterling and Pat (Petty) Morse and family

Lairold was a good friend to me. I met him at house parties hosted by a fellow AAAS "Mass Media Intern", Armand Lione in 1977, and as we both worked in Rosslyn, VA, would have lunch together occasionally. I also remember Kathy's graciousness in allowing Lairold to squire me to an African Embassy Party one year, and by the time of the gallery picture in 2004, counted the Streets as among my close friends. He'll be missed, but remembered fondly by all ! My best wishes to Kathy, Chipalo, Jalika and all the Streets and Fergers.
