Command Sergeant Major LAWRENCE M. TUCKER, US Army (Ret)
Age 82, passed away June 29, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. He is survived by his sister, Helen Oxford, sons, Lawrence M. Tucker, Jr. and Martin W. Tucker. Entered the Army in 1948 and in 1964 became, at the time, the youngest Sergeant Major in the US Army. Visitation and service will be held July 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 201 Edwards Ferry Rd NE., Leesburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations to Arcola Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department at www.arcolavfd.org. Interment with full military honors planned at Arlington National Cemetery on a future date. To the family. I knew your Dad and worked with him in the Civil Service and knew him well when he was on active duty. He was a soldier's soldier. I will always remember him as a great man. My prayers go out for you and may the Lord comfort you in your Grief. Rest IN Peace my good friend.
