LEONARD H. WATERS (Age 75)
On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Charlotte Traylor-Waters; father of Lori and Shawn; brother of Carl, Bobby, Phil, Kenny and Mike Waters and Kathy Parker. Also survived by four grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., where Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 1 p.m. Interment private at a later date. I think of the time that Leonard and I hitchhiked from Ft. Bragg to Ft. Jackson, to visit John King, John Long and Bobby Jinkins at their basic training company.
They got a big morale boost and it was fun being "seasoned" troops among all the bewildered recruits. We in our class A's and spit shined boots, and they in ill fitting hand washed new and green fatigues.
