A truly great man... He was one of the best bosses I have ever had. He taught me so much as a teenager working for his Sub shop at Macomb St. and Wisconsin Ave, then at the Pizzerria as a bus boy at Tenley circle for the duration of High School. One thing he taught me, that has stuck with me thru the years, is when you do your job, no matter how insignificant you feel your job is or what the position is, it is important to the company and do it to the best of your ability, that will reflect on what people think of you. Thank you Lew for being a major influence in my life. You will be missed by many. May you Rest in Peace

To the Newmyer and Everett families. I have such happy memories of Lew. I certainly hope your memories are a comfort now for you. Some that I thought I would share is the picture he had taken in Florida holding a huge pair of pink ladies underwear (the size of his body) that said Happy Birthday Natasha , in honor of my birthday. He was so tickled to give that to me. I still have the picture! I also remember when he brought home Funnel Cake Mix from the beach and decided Armands' should start selling funnel cakes alongside its pizza. There are so many more because he loved to make people laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you right now.

The year was 1975, and I was one of the first waitresses to join the staff at the new Armands on Wisconsin Avenue. What a vision Lew had for the business! I remember him fondly. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I remember Mr. Newmeyer from the liquor business and I believe that my father sold him our Stearns-Knight car. I had forgotten about the yo-yo however. RIP Mr. Newmeyer, my condolences to the family. Another one of the good guy old timers has passed.

Aww...We've lost one of the loveliest people anyone could ever have known.
Lew Newmyer was one-of-a-kind. An unforgettable character and all-around great guy.
The world suddenly feels a bit shallower, perhaps because Lew was such a deep-dish slice of wonderfulness.
Heartfelt condolences to Louie, Ronnie and all the Newmyers. I hope you know that your dad was beloved by many.
