LORAN D. ARCHER
On Tuesday, July 31, 2017 of Silver Spring, MD. Loving and devoted husband of Cecilia M. Archer for 61 years. Beloved father of John (Julie), Stephen (Dixie), Michael (Nancy), James (Laura), Patricia (James), Anne (Ted); grandfather of Jimmy, Andy, Lauren, Sam, Sean, Alison, Katie, Danny, Kevin, Max, Jake, Cassie, Scott, Nick and Amanda; great-grandfather of Tristan. Survived by sister, Joyce Arnhart, and nephews Craig, Tim, Ray, Jim, and Charlie. Korean War Air Force veteran. Loran graduated from UCLA. He worked for the State of California for 21 years, where he was Director of the State Department of Alcohol Rehabilitation. For the following 20 years, he worked for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Visitation at 9:30 a.m., Thursday August 3, 2017, with funeral following at 10 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD. Interment at 1 p.m. at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
