Deepest sympathies. I was working in DC from 2002-2005, and throughout, relied on Dr O'Neill's sympathetic, intelligent, witty and absolutely competent care and practical advice. A friend just told me that she could not find a good doctor in DC and I told her I'd look for mine for her. Could not remember the name or the face but remember it was Chevy Chase. Sadly found this page, and I do now remember those big sympathetic bright eyes. I'm sorry. Ariel, Singapore

I regretted leaving the care of Dr. O'Neill when I moved back to Kansas 5 years ago. In planning a fall visit to DC, I went to her website yesterday for contact info to make an appointment, and learned the sad news of her passing. I read every tribute in the guest book, and found that I am just one of numerous patients who felt a deep personal bond with her. How fortunate we all are to have had this brilliant and warm woman in our lives. For all who knew and loved her, this is a profound loss. I will not forget her.

Meg was the kindest, most thorough physician I have ever met. I saw her only a handful of times across a decade, but it was always like visiting a dear old friend who happened also to be a brilliant doctor. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

So saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. O'Neal. I met her when she was fresh out of residency. I was a sales representative at the time and remember her as being the most humble, engaging, enthusiastic and energetic person I had ever met. She was one of those people you remember with great fondness for the rest of your life. Such a joy to visit. Wonderful physician, outstanding human being.

Our condolences to Mike and Luke. It is so sad that we are all left without Meg, but we feel fortunate to have gotten to know her while she was here. Meg had looked after our three children when they needed help. She was exceptionally bright, incisive and conscientious as a physician, and unfailingly positive, engaging and supportive as a person. We came to place great trust in her judgement. We will miss her.

I am at a loss for words just having heard of Dr. O'Neill's passing. She was my doctor for so many years, and led me thru a particularly challenging disorder. I will miss her direct, cheerful yet "this isn't going to whip us!!" attitude at every appointment. I will miss her terribly, and my most heartfelt condolences to her family.

I was a patient of Dr. O'Neill. She was a wonderful physician. She was clearly extremely talented and skillful in her work, and she was always caring and kind in our interactions. No wonder she had so many loyal patients and such an impeccable reputation. Deepest condolences to her loved ones and to all who miss her.

Dr. O'neill always made me feel special. I lived in Chevy chase and remember seeing her walking with her husband with the widest smile on her face and it warmed me. She was the first doctor to notice something wrong with my kidneys through bloodwork that she had me do for an ance RX. This quite possibly saved my life. I am saddened that she left us but I know that heaven has an angel with her. What an amazing woman. I will miss her.

I just read about Meg's passing in the Harvard magazine and am absolutely shocked and saddened by this. Meg was in my dorm freshman year at Harvard and quickly became a very good friend. I remember fondly her sincerity and sense of humour. When I ran into her at our 25th reunion in 2011, I quickly saw that that hadn't changed. My sincerest condolences to Meg's entire family.

Our deepest condolences to Chuck, Jane, Mike, Luke, Cathy and Alex. We knew Meg as a young woman in New Haven. She was beautiful, smart and lively. She accomplished a lot in her all too short life. May her spirt live on forever.
