Mother, you are still such a strong presence in my life. I will always miss you and I think about you everyday. Whenever I´m about to do something that involves a choice, I stop and think, `what would Mother do?´ And then the choice is clear .

My thoughts ,prayers and love are sent to the Shaffer family. We had so much fun growing up across the street from all of you. Mrs. Shaffer was always there for all of us with a smile on her face. I will never forget her laugh ( sorry, but it was often after Jimmy and Johnny did something! ) Even when I moved away and came back to visit, she opened her door to my kids to swing on the swings or play tether ball. What a cherished memory . Love and prayer to all, Mary Ellen (Carruthers) and Randy Brown and family

Dear Marge, Here are some very fond memories that I have had with you for these many years...Living with you while Jim was overseas and Peggy was a baby 1946. Having the firehouse right next door to us was always waking us up to a very bothersome noise. I always remember your collection of high heel shoes to make you look taller. While living with you I worked at the 5 & Dime and you were always worried about me, since I was walking back to the apartment alone. I enjoyed our visits with Ruth Bennett, years later. We had such fond memories in the Parsonage in Meyersdale, Pa. Goofing off with the "dumbwaiter" was such fun, along with being afraid of sleeping separate, due to the large home. I remember when Jim brought you home to Martinsburg and you seemed to fit in right away, And that's how we became your Family! You were like a sister to all of us. Love, Ruthie

Being friends with Kim since 2nd grade, I loved spending time at the house on Apache Street. I wanted Kim's parents to adopt me! There was never a time that Mrs. Shaffer didn't make me laugh. I regret not going to visit these past few years. My heart is heavy for the entire family and my hope is that you find comfort in the many wonderful memories you have. My love to you all......

Grandma if you look up the word FAMILY in the dictionary there would be a picture of you and Pop. I always loved coming up for family gatherings and playing football games in the front yard. You will be greatly missed . We love you !
