MARIA TERESA GRISWOLD
On Thursday, January 30, 2014, of Kensington, MD. Beloved wife of Gary F. Griswold; mother of Mary M. (Ted) Godbout; John A. (Romy Gelb-Zimmer) Zimmer, Laura T. (Aaron) LaMotte, and Gwen (Brian) Roney; grandmother of Theodore James and Chloe M. Godbout, Tyler M. and Catherine M. LaMotte, and Adam and Raquel Zimmer; sister of Ofelia Guajardo and Joe (Gloria) Mendoza. Also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Kenny Ingham, as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, February 3 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 4900 Strathmore Avenue, Garrett Park, MD, on Tuesday, February 4 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. i was very sad to hear about Teresa. I always felt she was like a sister to me-always kind and loving and generous. I will never forget her visit to Texas to support me when my only daughter passed away suddenly. I have no doubt she is with the angels in heaven now. I pray that God grants her whole family comfort and strength and peace to bear her loss. Love

It is with great sadness I learn, along with other members of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association family, of Teresa's passing. She and I worked together for many years. She was a kind, warm, gracious colleague who gave of herself freely. She so enjoyed being a mother and grandmother as she would proudly remark when we had occasion to see each other. I offer my sympathies to her loved ones. May God bless you in this time of loss.

Teresa was such a bright light at ASHA where she worked from 1984-2003! She always put members first and her smile could be seen over each phone call with a member - way before there was Skype or FaceTime! She was a great friend and colleague to so many of us. She went above and beyond to serve others! She definitely left her mark in this world in so many ways. I will miss her but cherish the memories of our friendship.
