MARK RICHARD DIVEL
Of Rockville, MD on Wednesday April 5, 2017, surrounded by loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 4, 1954 in Wilmington, DE, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph Richard and Nellie Anne Divel. He is survived by his devoted brother, Joseph and his wife, Josie Divel; loving sister, Diane and her husband, Jim Resnick. Adored uncle of Laura and her husband, Ken Schlax, Sarah Divel, Tony, Christopher and Bridget Resnick; great-uncle of Vincent, Bradley and Violet Resnick. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Divel. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, April 10 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Shrine of St. Jude, 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mark's family asks that donations be made to the "Meals of Hope" ministry to assist the hungry in our community. Checks may be made to: St. Catherine Catholic Church, P.O. I will always love and cherish the memories I have with my Uncle Mark. He was an exceptionally kind and giving person. I will always remember when I would visit as a child and he would bring out stuffed animals and toys for us to play with. We always had fun and I will miss him dearly.
