On Thursday, May 1, 2014 of Murrells Inlet, SC and formerly of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence A. Lucas; mother of Richard L. Lucas and Eileen L. Pressley; grandmother of Jason R. Lucas, Amy M. Arioglu, Kacie E. Hayter and Ryan L. Pressley; great-grandmother of Sarah Grace, Daniel Jason Lucas and Eliza Mary Hayter; sister of the late Catherine A. and Irene L. Slattery. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church, 72 University Blvd., East, Silver Spring, MD on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms Lucas while at the nursing home. May your family have the peace in knowing that she talked of a few of you to me and was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever come to know. I was a student nurse there and the high light of my mornings was going in first thing to say hello. I know she is in a better place and I pray God gives you comfort in knowing what peace she is in now. Good bless you all!
