Departed this life on March 26, 2013 in North Potomac, Maryland. He was born on February 5, 1950. Mel leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters, Valerie Smith, Zee Plummer and Margo Peyton; three brothers, Vas Peyton, Tocque Peyton, and Monty Peyton; two step sons, Josh and Chris Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on April 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 19620 White Ground Road, Boyds, Maryland 20841. Visitation is one hour prior to funeral service. My deepest sympathies to the Family of Mel. He was the greatest friend to all who knew him. He loved his family very much. Even though he was a Dallas Cowboy fan he was one of my best friends. I will miss you always.
