Father Blackwell was our Priest in Holy Matrimony. We adored his friendship and checked in on him from time to time. It´s heart watering knowing he rests with out Heavenly Father.

Blessings my Beloved Friend of 30 years and part of the Dream Team from St. Mary of The Mills. Thank you for Blessing my Healing Ministry and Ordination with Fr. John Lubey so long ago. Gentle friend, you understood the Mystical Nature of God. I shall always miss you. You made a wondrous contribution of sharing your gifts in the world and of the world. Brightest Blessings to your loving Family.

Sincere condolences to the entire Blackwell Family and to Mike's many friends in the Archdiocese. A friend and colleague of over 45 years, Mike could always be counted on for support and good cheer. We shared the joy of his White House service, his ordination, his pastoral duties, the baptism of my son and my retirement in 2009. I will miss him greatly. May the Lord know He taken home to Heaven one of His finest servants on Earth. I was blessed to have known Ft. Mike.

Fr. Mike was a great help when we lost my brothers, (years apart). He was very approachable and comforting. He will be missed so much.

Whether the talk was serious or lighthearted on any given day, Fr. 'Uncle' Mike and I always enjoyed our outings to the Breakfast Club of choice, IHOP most often.

Dennis, it was so nice to meet you. My sympathy and prayers for you, Patricia, and Kathleen, as well as all the nieces and nephews.

It was Fr. B who started referring to himself as "good, old, Uncle Mike" around me. When I picked it up myself he didn't mind a bit, and routinely answered to "Uncle Mike?"

One breakfast outing in particular sticks out in particular. I taught 5th grade CCD and the curriculum was the sacraments and the parts of the Mass. I already knew most of the Mass was biblical, and Fr. B went from the beginning to the end of the Mass explaining each and every bible reference throughout, whether chapter and verse for some Mass parts, or the book where I could find the others. His kindness and generosity will be greatly missed!

We will miss you. Father Blackwell was present at many family gatherings we had when he served at St. Philip the Apostle. His warmth, humor and kindness were ever present. Fair winds and following seas, Father.

Father Blackwell was one of the kindness people we have ever know to not only work with but as a friend. His heart was bigger than life. We will always be thankful that he was able to be a part of our special day, our wedding. Until we meet again, rest in peace Father Blackwell.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
