MICHAEL A. PELLO (Age 94)
On Saturday, September 2, 2017, in Oregon City, OR. Longtime resident of the Washington, DC area including Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD. He was born in Bennington, VT, where he spent his early years, leaving in July 1942 for Washington, DC. A World War II veteran who served in the European Theater of Operations, Michael then attended Columbus University where he received a bachelor and masters degree in accounting. He worked for the US Post Office for six years and the Department of the Navy for 33 years. Member of the Silver Spring Lions Club, Knights of Columbus Rosensteel Council, and the American Legion. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Finnegan) McReady; father of Maureen Pello Olson and Edward McReady; grandfather of Lynne Haisley, Kristen Coughlan and the late Brendon McReady; great-grandfather of eight. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. W., Silver Spring, MD (valet parking) on Wednesday, September 13, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace, 15663 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD on Thursday, September 14 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
