I was cleaning out my closet today when I came across your son's lab notebook from Saint Joe's. He and my daughter were in the pre-med classes. She would always come home from campus and fondly talk about Neil. We saw him in Ardmore a few days before his death, and we shouted across Lancaster Ave, "Hi Neil." He brought joy and was so smart.

Vivienne, words can not express what you are feeling now. I just recently found out of the passing of your beautiful son. I remember him growing up and having fun moments with my kids, Jamal and Nadia at Our Lady of Lourdes. I also remember his interest in music and running into him and you at summer camps for the band rehearsals. You always struck me as an amazing and loving mother and I know he loved you very much. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your son will be missed by many and the memories will be forever cherished. -Ana Olaciregui , Annapolis, Md

Neil greeted me every morning in class with a bright smile followed by a "hey Taylor can I borrow a pencil, laptop charger, etc" or whatever he needed that day. We spoke last week about him visiting me in South Carolina this summer when I move down for graduate school. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. May his spirit, laughter, and smile, continue to follow those who ever knew him. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

To the Parents and Family of Neil York.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
I would like to say that although I did not have the opportunity to personally meet Neil, I have heard to many wonderful things about him, He was a very dear friends of my daughter Arantxa's since freshman year at St Joseph's University. She was impressed with Neil at their very first meeting and that was when she realized what a respectable, bright and charming young man he was, Neil would be most remember by her and his classmates because of his generous nature and loyalty towards others and because of this Neil will be missed by everyone.
I would like you to know on behalf of me and my family you and your family will be in our prayers.

He was the first person I ever met in the Gonzaga Band. I think he could tell that I was lost and generally out of my element. He took it upon himself to make sure I felt comfortable and welcomed in this new environment, and I could tell he truly cared about me. I didn't know him, and he didn't know me, but that didn't matter to him. From that very first day, he mentored me, pushed me to be a better person, and most importantly, became my friend. The leadership and generosity he shared with me my freshman year have greatly influenced who I am today, and I am forever grateful for what he has done for me. He graduated Gonzaga as a true Man for Others, and truly embodied the principles of the Jesuits. Heaven has gained a great soul, and I'm sure he's already jazzin' it up with flan man. Rest In Peace Neil York, I'm going to miss you.

Vivienne and David,
Our hearts are broken. We had the extreme pleasure of watching Neil grow into such a wonderful young man. He will be so missed. Rest assured that he and the Flan Man are playing beautiful music in heaven. Love, The McGlynns
