Rob was there for my late husband during some very rocky times- always on call in the middle of the night. He continued his vigil after David passed and was there when I most needed a friend. I share this loss with the many who benefited from his caring nature and send my condolences to his family. Bonnie Nelson Schwartz, Washington, DC

I am among the few to have enjoyed the privilege of knowing Rob both personally and professionally. I remember him as a truly honest, tough, and direct boss, who would ask you to perform tasks that he knew to be absolutely difficult (near impossible), but who would challenge you to perform them by telling you that if no other person could do it, he knew you to have the superior talent necessary to do it. Rob also never neglected to personally call you to thank you after you got it done. On the more personal note, Rob was the kind of person who would call you to check on the well being of your family. As a very private person, I elected not to inform him of a very serious health matter related to a close member of my family, but somehow, Rob found out and personally called me to insist on me knowing about available resources, and offered to do whatever I needed done in order to get us through it. Rob, I never thought about telling you this, I now realize that I should have, but God knows that my family and I love and appreciate you. We pray that you be granted eternal peace and that your family's sorrow be soothed.

God is GREAT!!! RIP Rob.

I worked for Robert Ades for three years as a lawyer. I am forever in his debt for the opportunity to learn from some very experienced attorneys and to be treated with respect and dignity by him. He was a class act. God Bless Rob Ades.

Really saddened by the news of Rob passing. There was nobody more loyal, who would drop anything if you needed something. I hope we can all remember the great times and the great stories. I even got him to GW Women's basketball games and he became a fan sometimes! Whenever I had a problem in dealing with family issues and raising money and awareness for autism he was first in line to help. Rob was the Best!!!!

I take great pride in having the opportunity in my legal profession to have worked with the Robert A. Ades & Associates law firm.(DC office) Rob was a very generous and caring person, who also held no punches. A life well lived but definitely, too short. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. God Bless.

I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in family, friends and prayer (Psalm 65:2) during this difficult time.

My husband informed me yesterday evening of the passing of Mr. Ades. He was so hurt and so was I. Mr. Ades was there for my husband as an attorney, as well as a friend, during some of the most turbulent times in my husband's life. But somehow Mr. Ades would assure my husband that he would take care of him and Mr. Ades was a man of his word. So as a wife who has stuck by her husband through those turbulent times, I want to say to Mr. Ades, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am eternally grateful to you for taking care of my husband no matter how bad the situation looked. You are a true pillar to your profession and I can't think of a better attorney the MPD and FOP could have had to represent the department. RIP Robert Ades, rest in His Holy peace.

I was amongst a group of his sons' friends fortunate enough to have known Rob from our teens to our forty's.
Years passed, but Rob's level of caring never aged - it just multiplied over to our spouses and kids (i.e. sending a dozen roses for our daughter's third birthday, consistent birthday cards that mirrored his great sense of humor, holiday Fedex boxes full of coffee cakes and cookies, warm encouraging letters signed “Rob 80's”, and countless more).
His passing was unfairly much too soon, yet the date, Labor Day, was somehow fitting for a person who dedicated his whole professional life to helping union workers, laborers, and many others who needed his voice, strength, and wisdom.
Constantly helping people was Rob's labor of love, and nothing made him happier.
The void in our hearts is now both painful and palpable, but mended by bright and numerous memories of Rob being Rob.
My deepest condolences to his two sons and his close loved ones at this time.
L'shana Tova Rob! – I really missed saying that to you in synagogue today.
