Ruth was a dear friend of mine of over 50 years, from the time she lived in Melbourne. We were next door neighbors. I have many fond memories from that time and also when I visited Washington with my family in 1979. We always kept in touch,by mail and more recently via Skype. I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing and will miss her presence in my life. My deepest condolences to her sister Angelina and family of whom Ruth often spoke.

Ruth enriched the lives of everyone she spoke with at Brookside Gardens. When it was my turn for weekend duty we would chat about so many topics and she would find humor in the most unexpected places. I will miss her stories and delightful countenance.

I knew Ruth from Brookside Gadens. She was such a lovely and sweet lady, always greeting Brookside Gardens visitors with a smile. From time to time some of us got together for lunch and I was also happy to hear of her travel adventures. She was certainly an asset to Brookside, and will be missed by many.

Sorry to see you go, so suddenly and unexpectedly. I never met your sister, but your many stories often were about your adventures with her--my thoughts and condolences to her for this sad loss. I will come see you in Arlington. Rest in peace in a Harper family reunion, you were the last of that generation.

I will really miss seeing her smiling face each Sunday. This is a big loss to me personally and to Brookside Gardens, too. I hope to be able to attend the service and burial at Arlington Cemetary in the future. Thanks, Ruth, for making Sundays at Brookside Gardens special!
