Ryan and I hadn't been in class together since 6th grade, but recently he started eating lunch with us everyday and we reconnected. He was always telling jokes and was a lot of fun to be around. I am sorry he won't be with us to share the next four years of high school - I am really going to miss him. He will always be in my thoughts.

I knew Ryan quite well in his elementary school years. He was so bright, and full of creative ideas. He struggled, it seemed, to cinq his great ideas with those of others. Jeanne, your relationship with him was strong and nurturing. I pray that you can find peace with this great loss. His was an unfinished life, wasn't it.?

My daughter shared her thoughts with me after hearing of Ryan's passing, "Ryan was in my science class at Whitman. He was the nicest, funniest, and smartest guy. Last week, one of the girls in the class was having a really bad day so he ran outside and jumped in a pile of leaves to cheer her up. She smiled and the whole class laughed. He was just so funny and did nice thing for people. He was the smartest in our class and whenever I answered a question out loud wrong, he would whisper me the right answer so I could correct myself. I just got to really know him this year, I wish we had more time together, I am going to miss him."
