SELMER S. NORLAND (Age 99)
On Saturday, December 5, 2015 of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. Norland; father of Janet E. (George) Schwenke and Deborah A. (David) Dixon; grandfather of Kris, Erik, Kara, Amy, Lise, Laura and Emma. Also survived by 11 greatgrandchildren. Memorial Service at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Colesville Road (at Highland Dr.), Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to National Cryptologic Museum Foundation, PO Box 1682, Ft. George G Meade, MD 20755; Luther College, 700 College Drive, Decorah, IA 52101; or the church.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

My cousin Selmer was beloved by my father Lester Holland. Selmer was the child of his older sister Dorothy and they grew up more like brothers, playing baseball etc. He came to my dad,s funeral and was the last time I saw him. That was in 1977. Rest in peace Selmer, will never forget seeing you at church every Sunday.

Uncle Selmer was a wonderful man and will be missed by many. He had a long, fulfilling life and was an inspiration to numerous people.

Selmer Norland is a man never to be forgotten. We have so many wonderful memories of him. We share with Janet, Debbie, and the extended family many, many cherished memories.
