On September 24, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Esther M. McFiren; father of Evelyn I. Johnson, Marvin P. McFiren and the late Thomas J. McFiren, Jr. Also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, 20901 on Tuesday, September 29, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Followed by a graveside service and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, 20906 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

I am so sorry I was not able to attend due to my health... Pop I love and miss you and grandma very much. Now you are together and can give my dad a bit of grief for me. I wish you had gotten the chance to meet your newest great grand daughter. When she gets here I will be sure to tell her all about you 3 and how amazing you were. I love you Pop. Marvin and family, I am so glad I had the privilege of knowing Tom, sharing a trip or two to the casinos and visits to Crofton rehab running all over the center seeing the bird houses he built. I will always remember his stories of his military service and how he would salute the pictures of servicemen on the walls heading to the bird room. I know he is free of pain and with his beloved. RIP Tom.
