WESLEY EUGENE SULLIVAN, III (Age 81)
On Wednesday, January 4, 2017, of Kensington, MD. Beloved husband of Anna Sullivan; father of Wesley E. Sullivan, IV and his wife, Ellen Nedrow Sullivan; grandfather of Wesley E. Sullivan, V; brother of John Sullivan, Kathleen DeWit, Mike Sullivan, Danny Sullivan and Maureen Gould. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, January 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church, Summit Ave and Cable Drive, Kensington, MD, on Tuesday, January 10 at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. So sorry to learn of Wes leaving us when I went to the senior center yesterday to dance. He was a gentleman and kindhearted. He attended a Matter of Balance class years ago and shared his nautical knots with the instructors. Bless God for his earthly life and we will reunite in Heaven.

Dear Anna & Wes, Jr:
I served with Wes for many years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Wes was an inspiration to all and a dedicated member of our flotilla who excelled at teaching public boating safety classes and marlinspike seamanship. He touched a lot of people both within and outside the Auxiliary. Wes was a true resource and I valued his support and counsel. Wes' passing represents the end of an era. He will be missed.

I served with Wes Sr. in the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Flotilla 7-10 and then in 24-08 until his retirement. We will miss him and all his rope work. At the Division 24 Change of watch Saturday Night his passing was marked and discussed. Many in that room were recipients of his heaving line and other fancy work he did. I discussed his acheivments with one of the active duty CG Officers that attended. I expect to attend the Funeral Tuesday.
