WILLIAM KELLY Obituary


WILLIAM BOLAND KELLY  7/20/1926 ~ 8/27/2015  
Distinguished public servant in international trade policy in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative in Washington, DC, he also served as Deputy Director-General of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade in Geneva. Before coming to Washington, he taught international economics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, where he had earned his Ph.D. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cecile Begnoche Kelly; his sons, Robert (Judi), George (Alison) and William (Carla); his grandchildren, David (Salina), Sean (Mathilda), Peter (Laina), Ryan, Andrea Smyth (Shannon), Martin, James and Carolyn; and five great grandchildren. His daughter, Patricia, predeceased him. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 11 a.m. at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 3630 Quesada St., NW, Washington, DC 20015. Memorial contributions may be made to the Social Concerns Committee, Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. www.collinsfuneralhome.com
