WILLIAM HENRY KAUPERT, JR.  1929-2016  
Bill departed this life suddenly and unexpectedly on July 3, 2016. A resident of Silver Spring, Maryland since 1967, he was born on March 1, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois and was the eldest of three children. Beloved husband of Isobel Ruth Kaupert, loving father of Andrew Kaupert and Jennifer Johnsen, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, his children, grandchildren, and two sisters.Bill graduated with a bachelor''s degree in English Literature from Northwestern University, a Master''s degree in English Education from George Washington University, and joined the Peace Corps in 1962 serving in Colombia, South America where Ruth joined him and they were married. He was a Washington, D.C. Public School teacher for 35 years, and continued to work teaching at The Huntington Learning Center until his passing. Bill was a devoted and respected member of his church and community, great teacher, mentor and friend.Committal service and interment will be held at the historic Saint Paul''s Episcopal Church and Rock Creek Cemetery, 201 Allison St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20011 on Friday July 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Christ Congregational Church, 9525 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20901 on Saturday July 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is at peace and in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to Christ Congregational Church or St. Paul''s Episcopal Church.
