I have known Johnny as a brother-in-law and friend since 1970. He was always kind, considerate and respectful of others. He had a cheerful personality with a good since of humor. Johnny shared a special relationship with me due to our long years of military service and retirement from the military. In mid August of 1977 upon completion of a 3 year tour of duty in West Germany, I was transferred to Fort Meade for separation and retirement effective September 1, 1977. Johnny and his wife, Edna C. Johnson provided me and my family with housing and transportation during this critical transition period. I will be eternally grateful for their kindness. During my last visit with Johnny at the Friends Rehab Center in Sandy Spring, Johnny addressed me as his friend, thanked me for visiting, shook my hand and said good-bye. Good-bye my friend. Thank you for your long and dedicated service to your country and Rest in Peace. Our Deepest Sympathy to the Johnson Family.
