Albin Lassa Obituary
Albin J. Lassa, 97, formerly of Mosinee died Saturday Nov. 15, 2014 at Maple Ridge Memory Care in Plover. He was born May 15, 1917 in the Town of Dewey. He is the son of the late Andrew and Stella (Wrycza) Lassa.
He entered the US Army on June 20, 1941. He served as a Tech 5 with Battery B 20th Field Artillery as a light truck driver. He served in Belgium, Germany, France and England. He received the Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Service Arrowhead. He was honorably discharged Aug. 24, 1945.
His marriage to Frances Danczyk took place on Nov. 25, 1950 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. Frances died June 5, 2014. Albin farmed in the Town of Dewey his entire life.
He enjoyed Polka music, deer hunting, his pet Chihuahua "Sparky" and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children: Rose (Norman) Kielpinski of Rosholt, Steven (Annette) Lassa of Mosinee, Walter Lassa of Portage, James Lassa & Joseph (Debbie) Lassa both of Mosinee. Eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren & several great grandchildren. One brother: Frank (Marion) Lassa of Oregon. He was preceded by one son Raymond, 4 bothers & 3 sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday Nov. 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the Town of Hull. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate. Burial with full military honors will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service Wednesday morning at the Church. Extending my sadness to the loss of your father. He and his wife were always so kind to my parents. What a full life he had and we should be so thankful for that

My deepest Sympathy to the Lassa Family, I got to know them when I babysat for Jason for 4 years.Albin and Frances often came to pick Jason up from my house and would come in and have coffee with me. You Children and Grandchildren had a wonderful couple for Parents. Jason I think of you often and understand you have a family of your own. Love to All and keep your memories close to your Heart. May they Rest in Peace.
