Gloria - Just learned of Jane Ann's passing. I send my sincere sympathy to you at the loss of your sister. Dennis Cain
I rember when me and my friend Mitchell walked down there and we get There and she would offer candy or cookies and she would be so nice I we'll miss her a lot .
Always a smile and a greeting I will never forget. A truly great person who lifted the spirits of many.

I remember her visits while in college, she would work on jig saw puzzles with me so patiently. Jane Ann certainly left the world a better place with her contributions of her time and guidance.
From Jane's last regular column in the Daily Herald, March 1, 1992, about her readers: "When we met at area lunch counters, we exchanged greetings; when our lives turned tragic, we shared hugs and tears; during the happy times, we laughed together.
"For that, I thank you."
I didn't know Jane well -- we'd met only a handful of times -- but I'd like to thank her for setting the tone for the newsroom I walked into 20 years ago, just a few years after she left.
Had the honor of working with Jane on the civil service commission. Was a great lady
I will forever cherish my memories of the friendship Jane and I shared for almost 46 years...dating back to when I joined the Daily Herald as a reporter those many years ago. We shared each other's many life experiences, and it is difficult to believe she has left us. What a legacy of volunteerism and community commitment she leaves behind....farewell my friend.
Wausau has lost a great lady,we will always remember her big smile.Lots of good memories at the shooting range.
