Mr. Delap was the Director of Social Services and hired me, and my future husband, our first jobs. He was larger than life. His dedication to the clients served through his department, and his constant reminder to treat all people with dignity and respect has guided my values throughout my social work career. Mr. Delap lives on in so many of us.

Dick was the director at Social Services when I started many years ago as a new social worker. My first work day as a county employee, he asked if I knew who my alderman was and had a twinkle in his eye when I hesitated with the answer to that question. After that, he'd stop into my office on occasion to check in on how I was doing and to chat. He had a true interest in county government, child welfare and programs that would benefit families in need. My sympathy to his family as his passing is quite a loss to them and to the community.
Sincerely, Carolie Fox

As children we often do not recognize or realize the impact other adults have on us. "Linda" will always have a special place in my heart. I will remember my years growing up, with him being a part of them. Beth, Deb & your families, I will keep you in thought & prayer through this sad time.
