I am so saddened to hear of Evie's death. I spent many retreats with her, she was a wonderful person. Soft spoken and kind.
Although I didn't see Evie very often, whenever I did meet her, she was like a long lost friend to me. My knitting benefitted from her wonderful knitting knowledge. She personified what every knitter aspires to be, kind, caring and compassionate about others. I also remember Evie talking about one of the loves of her life, Bunky her beloved dog of many years. I just know that Evie and Bunky have found each other and he sleeps next to her as she does her heavenly knitting.
Oh how I will miss Evie...my visits with her, discussions of knitting techniques, her phone calls. It seems like she should always be there. My sympathy to you, Robin and your family and to Mike. I feel a big hole in my life.
I met Evie at the first two or three Stitches conferences in the early 1990's. She was delightful!
