Shortly after his Olympic win,I ran into Jeff at a car wash. I told him that I worked with Deaf kids, and asked for an autographed picture, which he sent to me a few days later.
I seem to remember him coming to speak to them as well.
For so many people to send condolences and memories speaks volumes as to the kind of person he was.
Thank you to the family for sharing him,and deepest sympathies to you as well.

As we continually hear about the use of steroids and HGH in today's athletes, Jeff was truly not only an American icon in the sport of wrestling but a real inspiration to the youth of today. His courageous battles with cancer as well an inspiration to us all. He will truly be missed. May God's love be of comfort to you at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

The passing of your husband and father, was mentioned in our Tacoma WA. newspaper. I remember how my Dad thought so highly of Jeff and his courage and talent. I know Dad always enjoyed the charity golf tournaments! I never met Jeff, but wanted to convey condolences on behalf of the Tupper family.

Lori and Family,

So very sorry for the loss of Jeff. I didn't know him because of wrestling, but he always had a kind word and a smile for everyone I saw him with. His happiness ,I'm sure, was multiplied after his marrying and raising a family. May you all find peace and happiness in knowing how many people he touched in such a very positive way. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Jeff's a great motivator to follow healthy living after I suffered two heart attacks.
