Allen was and still plays an important part of my life. Allen always sat a few rows behind my family at bluff hall and never missed a chance to shake your hand or give you a hug. You could always find him volunteering for the church suppers, ice cream socials, or to step in when someone needed a hand. I grew closer to Allen and Virginia when I started mowing their yard. I owe them a huge thanks for really being my first employer but even more so of setting an example of how to treat people. You could always count on a glass of lemonade and something sweet on the picnic table for after the yard was mowed. I recall several times that the check had "a little extra" in it too. They truly did/do feel like an extra set of grandparents and I will truly miss Allen. Just like walking into church I know he'll be one of the first to greet me when it's my time.
With a heavy heart I send my love, admiration and condolences to his family and friends.
