With the three year anniversary around the corner, a bunch of your Grand Junction framily rode/drove to Gateway last Saturday to pay our respects and straighten up the site. We enjoyed spectacular weather and many fond memories of times and rides with you. Four bikes & three cars. Kevin and Samantha are pregnant and plan to name their daughter Connie Rae (sp?) in your honor. You made a difference in many lives, babe, and are not forgotten.

Loving and missing you every day, dear Connie - especially on your 74th birthday! I am thankful for our time together, and hope you are still enjoying new adventures and long rides in beautiful places. You are very much loved and definitely not forgotten!

Today I had the honor & privilege of giving Connie Ray "Buzz" Powell his final ride. On this dark & rainy Saturday morning, Fletcher, Lil Harley, and I felt and enjoyed his presence throughout the hauntingly beautiful canyons of the Colorado National Monument.

We met our dear friends Rusty & Alyce Walters at the Fruita McDonald's, where Connie & I routinely stopped for coffee & fries after our local rides. Together we traversed the 23 miles and said our goodbyes, thrilling at the slow twisties and marvelling at the unique rock formations and breathtaking scenery. We stopped at the picnic area of the Monument, where Connie and I frequently enjoyed homemade lunches and short hikes. We warmed up with coffee in Glade Park as Connie and I often did on our rides. Buzzards soared overhead as the sun perked through the clouds, reminding us he watches over us still.

It was a fitting farewell for our beloved Viking biker whose motto was truly "Live to Ride, Ride to Live."

Ride on forever, Ray - you are loved and missed and remembered every day!
