Dear Matt...

Please accept my sincere condolences on your recent loss and know I am thinking of you and your family. Your father was nothing but good to me and he will be missed. I will never forget how he tolerated my overzealous politicking in the summer of 1984. You may have forgotten how I plastered his car with bumper stickers creating a sensitive situation for him in his job! I am glad I was able to attend his retirement party at the Veterans' Home (I was working in the laundry there at the time). I don't think we have spoken since you were in Quincy in 1988 but Larry has kept me up to date. I will definitely call you when I will next be in Colorado. Again, please know I am thinking of you at this time and let your mother know I wrote.

Norma,

My mom (Tonie) worked for Gene at the Vets Home. She always said that Gene was a good boss. She thought very highly of you and Gene. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers at this difficult time.
