Patrick McGinley was my 4th and 6th grade teacher at Madison School. He was also my scoutmaster for a number of years. I learned so much from him that I will always carry with me. Aside from my parents, he was one of the first people in my life to teach me to hold myself to high standards of excellence. His legacy lives through all of his students, former scouts, and in the work they do every day. Much of the volunteer work I do today is influenced by the example and bar that was set by Patrick McGinley. Patrick was also a close personal friend of my parents, and he will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Patrick's. I consider myself a lucky man to have known Patrick for many years, and to be among a group of gentlemen who got together with Patrick often to enjoy a friendly game of poker. I always admired his knowledge and his wit. He would always ask how my son was doing, having been one of the leaders that accompanied my son and other Boy Scouts to the National Scout Jamboree.
Patrick will be sorely missed.

Pat was a dear friend, teacher to our four children and scout master to our two Eagle Scout sons. He was an example for others in how to treat people especially his mother.
