Dear Bill,
Thank you Bill for always remembering and asking for me with Skelly. It means so much when someone asks for someone. In the short time I got to know you, you had such an impact on me. Your kindness and spirit are something I carry inside me. I hope you know that I miss you a lot and I really really wish I could have had a chance to be around you more. I felt so close to you since we met. I wish things hadn't gone bad with Skell and I in the past, then maybe I would have had a chance.
I'm trying to be there for Ruth with Skell. Him and Bobbi are doing an amazing job doing everything for her. They both rock. I'm grateful I got to meet her. Skell always said great things about you both. She asks about you sometimes. It's so heartbreaking seeing her, Skell, and Bobbi go through a lot.
I know you are around me sometimes. You standing by my side makes me a stronger person. I'll carry you as long as I am able to. I hope you know I also asked about you a lot.
Much love kind sir,
Milio.

We had great fun in our neighborhood as kids east of Empire. Bill could ride uni-cycles really well as a kid, and had a great Uncle Sam costume which he wore while walking on stilts way up high. Billy, Bobby, Pierce, and Maye, a wonderful and generous family. Oh, also the great harvest time shindigs at the ranch at harvest time for the neighborhood. Mom was amazing at her quilting, we still have ours.

Bill was a valued member of the Kiwanis Club of Rosemead. I remember him best during our annual snow camp leadership weekends--he was so full of joy driving that old church van, sleeping in a raggedy sleeping bag, leading nature hikes and helping the Builders and KEY Club members create their Saturday night indoor campfire programs and Sunday morning non-denominational devotionals.

Bill would call me and say, "I'm just checking in with you." We would have fruitful conversations; when we finished talking, Bill would say, "The Lord be with you." I replied, "and with you." Rabbi Beerman, Dr. Maher Hatout, and now our friend, Bill, are united with the Lord of peace and the communion of saints. We count on their prayers. I miss you Bill.

I am truly going to miss Bill's beautiful, authentic and deeply compassionate soul in my life. He has touched the hearts of so many individuals. He was always there for people. As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him, lies on the paths of men. I am extremely grateful to have known this great man and walk this path alongside him. Thank you Bill for your light! You will be missed.
